The BodyTree brand represents building a strong foundation for exponential growth. This comes through quality teaching and an emphasis on precision. BodyTree Ballet was founded on this philosophy. We nurture our students to become educated dancers who understand what it takes for their body to dance injury free through compulsory BodyTree conditioning programs.
It is the dream of all ballerinas to be beautiful, graceful and effortless in their performance. Just like a swan that looks graceful and effortless on the surface, a ballerina actually pedals furiously beneath it. They have to endure long hours of dance training and hard work, and deal with the challenges or injuries that their own bodies face.
BodyTree’s conditioning program supports a dancer through their strenuous and repetitive trainings. Our teachers are trained in Pilates, Barefoot training, Stretch Therapy, Prehab Trainer and PowerPlate Technology. This allows us to help aspiring dance professionals, advanced students, beginners and late starters effectively.
Coming from years of dance and teaching experience, subsequently integrating Pilates into their practice, our teachers found that mastery of both areas greatly complemented each other and strengthened their physical performance.
Well equipped to help young dancers on their dance conditioning journey, our teachers are Registered RAD Ballet Teachers and trained in Pilates, Barefoot Training, Stretch Therapy, Prehab Trainer and PowerPlate Technology.
Alycia started Pilates with the belief that it is an effective body conditioning method to strengthen and improve body alignment. As she delved deeper through her Pilates journey, she discovered first hand, the benefits of developing a stronger core and greater mind-body connection in honing in her dance technique. This reinforced her belief that Pilates improves a person’s physical well-being, builds confidence and prevents injury.
Alycia has taught ballet for 16 years. With her passion in teaching and a continuous pursuit of knowledge in both dance education and Pilates, she hopes to create meaningful experiences in movement, inspire and motivate her students to move well and dance injury free!
Through her journey with Pilates, Louisa discovered tremendous improvement in core strength with a supple body. Having experienced the physical, mental and emotional benefits of Pilates, as well as the improved mind-body awareness and body alignment, Louisa was inspired to commit teaching Pilates fully. Her life’s mission is teach others to reach their movement potential and also discover for themselves the benefits of Pilates.
As a child, Tabitha has always loved how music and rhythm can inspire movement. She started her dance journey at the age of 8, and after having done Jazz, Chinese, Modern and Contemporary style dances, she finally began her ballet journey at a late age of 18.
Lydia started ballet lessons at the age of 5 years and later on also picked up tap jazz and modern dance under the guidance of Ms Sharon liew. She then decided to further pursue dance at the New Zealand school of dance as a classical major in 2015 and graduated 3 years later with a Diploma in dance. During her time in New Zealand, Lydia got the opportunity to learn pilates as part of the full time program curriculum and hence personally experienced the benefits of pilates for a dancer. After returning home from studying overseas, she decided she wanted to share her knowledge of dance as a teacher instead of a dancer. Therefore deciding to further her skills by adding pilates teaching to enhance and compliment her teaching to dance.
